Ian Wildermuth
Since as young as I can remember, running and my relationship with the Lord have been key parts of my life. Growing up within a Christian family, I learned from a young age that my relationship with the Lord should always be the most important piece of my life. Throughout my younger years I was always an athlete but took a special liking to soccer and running was just an enjoyable way to stay fit. Little did I know that those years on the soccer field were preparing me for something greater.
My high school years brought a shift away from soccer as I transitioned to cross-country running and track. I discovered a tremendous amount of joy in running itself, though I left so much potential untapped due to simply not taking it seriously. A few colleges reached out, but I passed on the opportunity to run collegiately and it again became a casual way to maintain fitness as I went through some rougher years of life where I lacked direction. Through all of those years, one thing remained consistent: my relationship with the Lord. Feeling lost in life and needing direction, I prayed endlessly asking for the Lord to reveal His plans for my life. I needed something to work towards, and that prayer was answered through running. A half marathon, then a marathon. The discipline, growth, and other skills required in running carried over to other areas of life and, most importantly, running gave me a pathway to so much spiritual growth with every run offering time to meditate, pray, and delight in the Lord and His creation.
As I continued to pursue running, I found a growing desire and a calling from the Lord to help others experience the same in running through a Christian-based coaching model where we aim for growth both athletically and spiritually within a community of like-minded individuals. Personally, I am pursuing the highest level of competition as an elite ultramarathon runner; however, I am thrilled to work with athletes of all distances, skill levels, and backgrounds and am beyond excited to bring this vision to reality!

Mission/Philosophy
Merging A Love For Christ with A Passion For Running
My goal through RWC Running and as your coach is to help you grow into a better runner and achieve your goals while incorporating our faith and love for God into training and racing. I believe that in order to be at our best as runners we must have a wholistic approach incorporating the mind, body, and spirit for success and growth both inside and outside of sport.
I put a tremendous amount of importance as your coach on keeping up-to-date on training methodology and philosophy and applying it to my athletes to help you achieve your peak level of physical performance. With that being said, many of my biggest personal breakthroughs have come from application of my faith and my goal is for my athletes to be running not for just ourselves but to bring glory to God through the amazing gifts He has given us to be able to run and train. The most important race we will run is the one of life and faith in which we must look to Jesus as the founder and perfecter of our faith and the One who provides us with all we need.
